Chelsey - The Paper Mama

Hello! I'm Chelsey, The Paper Mama. I run and create and play on my blog: The Paper Mama. I have a little baby girl, Laureli (or Ruari as I mostly call her) that was born December 2009. She's a MAJOR inspiration in everything I do.

I've ALWAYS had a love for photography. But, didn't really get addicted until recently. Now my daughter is constantly being stalked by the Mama-razzi! Ha!

I went to school for interior design, which is where I got my first taste of Photoshop. One of my favorite things to do while Ruari is sleeping is to play around with my Photoshop CS3. I really believe that having a few basic editing skills can help anyone's photos. Just fixing a little exposure here, and some contrast there. That's all you really need. But, of course, I take it WAY too far and go all crazy.

I started this community to support and inspire other photography-aholics. You don't have to be a pro to take some amazing photos. You don't even have to have a top of the line camera. Please enjoy our little photography community.

Hello! I am Sarah, addicted to photography and lover of naptime. I am the writer/photographer behind Sarah Halstead: the Naptime Momtog. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 8 years and we have two boys together. Dusytn is 4 years old and all boy. Carsyn is 2 years old and has Lobar HPE and Cerebral Palsy.

I have always loved photography and received my first DSLR Christmas of 2009. My addiction only got stronger as I took more photos. I upgraded to the D7000 from the D3000 Christmas of 2010. I can not wait to see where it takes me. I have started a new Photography Business.

I just really got into editing over the past year and I love it. Currently I am still finding my style.  I mainly use Lightroom and CS5. I am still learning everyday and I can not wait to share what I learn with this wonderful community. I am excited to inspire and be inspired

Hi! I’m Rachel and I am usually the one with the camera attached to her face.  I’m the wife to Chris, and the mom to Grace, Camden and Charlie.  I’ve had my big girl camera for a couple of years now.   I had been coveting a Nikon D60 for MONTHS, but was afraid to pull the trigger when my awesome husband (and kids) surprised me with it a few mothers’ days ago.  Seriously, the best.  present. ever.   I take tons of pictures, and I post at least one as the photo of the day (or POTD) on my blog, and then, she {snapped} every single day.  I’m excited to be a contributor to Paper Heart Camera and share some of the little tricks and tips I’ve learned over the past couple years.  I’m not a professional, that’s for sure, I just take pictures.  And love it.

Audrey - The Daily Wyatt
Hi! My name is Audrey. I am what I consider to be a newbie to photography. I Started my blog The Daily Wyatt Jan 2010 as a place to share what my life was all about with my husband Cody and son Wyatt. This past year I discovered my love for photography. As I begged my husband and drooled over other people pictures I finally got my Sony A550 in September along with Photoshop Elements 8 and have not put it down since.

I did take one photography course in high school but never really paid attention so I had to relearn everything I know by reading and learning from photography communities like this one.

I just started to shoot in manual and loved how much freedom that has given me and I have also become brave and started my own little photography business. I can’t wait to show and teach what I have learned and will continue to learn with all of you.

Faith - Sweet Violet
Hey there! I'm Faith and you'll find me blogging away at Sweet Violet about life as a mom to five and online photography teacher. I live in the deep south with my hubs and kiddos (oh and there's a dog around here somewhere too) and love love love blogging.  I've had a blog of some kind or another for over six years and can hardly imagine my life without blogging and all of the wonderful people I have met. I started my first photography blog as a creative outlet during a dark time in my life. I loved how I could post photos and write about photography even when life was pretty much falling apart. Now being a photography blogger is one of the highlights of my life.  I've been a huge fan of Paper Heart Camera since day one and am really excited about contributing here.

In my bag: Nikon D700 & D80, Nikkor lenses f/3.5-5.6 18-50mm & f/4-5.6 55-200mm, Nikon SB600, Speedlight, Nikon ML-L3 remote, Quantaray 52mm +10 macro filter, edit with PSE7 primarily using actions from Paint the Moon and My 4 Hens and frames and templates from The Coffee Shop Blog.

Courtney - Courtney Kirkland

I've been a photo taker and avid image snapper for as long as I can remember. It started back in Middle School when my mom gave my sister and I a roll of film and her Canon Film Rebel and told us to go play in the yard. I've been taking pictures ever since. I purchased my first DSLR (a Canon Rebel Xsi) in February 2009, shortly after our first son was born. My love for digital photography grew rapidly and left me pining for more knowledge and information on how to use my camera. Almost four years later, I've attended workshops, classes, and seminars to hone my technique and spent a small fortune on lenses, books, and camera equipment.

I blog frequently over in my little corner of the interwebs (CourtneyKirkland.net) on life as a military wife, working mama (have I mentioned I own two businesses?!), my sweet baby boy, graphic design, and have written multiple photography tutorials on capturing better images and making the big move to manual. I'm looking forward to contributing here and getting to know some of you through our common love for capturing beautiful images!

In my bag: Canon 7D body, Canon 50 mm 1.4, Sigma 30 mm 1.4, and Canon 75-300 mm and my iPhone

Post Processing: Adobe Lightroom 4 & Photoshop CS5 primarily using actions from the Florabella Collection and Michelle Kane.

i've been an incessant photo taker my whole life but took it to a whole new level last year when i purchased my first DSLR {after months of convincing my husband it was absolutely necessary in order to capture adequate picture of our son}.  this?  created a monster.  i'm pretty sure i've loaded over 15,000 pictures into iPhoto just this year.  and i'm not slowing down anytime soon!

my passion in photography has led to starting a business in portrait photography & i'm just taking it one step at a time to see where it leads me.  so far so good.  i blog a lot on my baby blog {www.agoodlifeblog.com} and attempt to blog semi-regularly on my photo blog {www.photographybyamylee.com}.  and now i'm excited to contribute here!

In my bag: camera:  Canon Rebel T2i, lenses:  18-200mm 3.5-5.6 & 50mm 1.8, software:  Adobe PS CS5

I’m Gina, a wife to a Fire Chief- mother to Mr. Man, Mini-Me & The Munchkin. I love photography, sweets, time spent going home to SoCal & hubs home of Lake Tahoe. I have a serious addiction to magazines, NASCAR, football, the scent of coconut & fall colors. Oh & we happen to homeschool- partly because my hubs schedule is so unpredictable that we really needed & enjoy having the freedom in our schedule. I started getting serious about my passion for photography in 2010 & picked up my “big girl” camera about a year ago. Within a month I took the plunge into full manual & have not looked back. It has been so liberating to know that I know my camera inside & out & I have truly enjoyed the journey of learning how to make my camera produce what I dream of creating. I feel so blessed & honored to be joining this fabulous group of inspiring photographers here.

I am a stay at home homeschooling mom of 4 fabulous littles ages 1 to 10.  There are three things I must have every day (besides kisses from my kiddos): coffee, cookies and a camera in hand.  I enjoy the beach, baking, long family walks and exploring museums and local sites with our crazy clan of 6. I have always been interested in the arts and photography, but never really pursued it beyond taking snapshots. I did work as an advertising print production manager before having kids and enjoyed being surrounded by creative directors, writers and graphic designers, but I was really more of a nuts and bolts production worker than a creator.  After my husband gave me my first DSLR for Mother's Day in 2010, I began taking more photographs and reading photography blogs. I ventured into aperture priority after getting my zoom lens as a birthday gift in July, 2011 and switched to manual mode in Dec 2011. I have been studying, practicing and devouring everything photography ever since. I  have a new found passion for seeing life through my lens. Bit by bit I can see my work improving. I'm having the time of my life learning new things and reveling in the creative expression. I am thrilled to be joining the talented ladies here and sharing a love creating beautiful images.

Hola! My name is Brooke and I'm a Mommarazzi. Oh, you mean this isn't a support group! Phew, because I'm just not ready to be cured of my Mommarazzi-ways! So a little bit about me: we've already established that I take an obscene amount of photos and that I like to try to be funny. (With a big emphasis on the TRY!) Both of which earn me a lot of eye-rolls at home from my two boys, well, technically three, if you count my husband. I picked up my first DSLR in 2008 and haven't really put it down since. Seriously, it is a permanent appendage. (Vigorous nods from my family!) And while I know that I am not the best photographer out there, I have learned a few things along the way. And I can't wait to share with you.

Summer - Crosbie Crew

Hi, my name is Summer.  I share my family's daily life over at the Crosbie Crew.  You can usually find me taking pictures with my Nikon D60 or my iPhone.  One of them is usually on me at all times.  I started taking photography classes back in High School, the first year it was offered.  A few years later, ok a lot of years later, I fell in love with photography all over again with the birth of my first son.  I wanted to capture every little detail.  Now that I have 2 boys, you can guess that I have documented everything for them.  I believe photography is a great gift to share and you should never wait until "the perfect time" to get your pictures taken.

I would say my photography style is clean, fun and colorful.  I like to use Photoshop when needed and a philosophy of mine is a little bit can go a long way. I'm so excited to be a part of this team!

In my bag: Nikon D60, 18-55mm, 50mm, Speedlight SB-600, remote and Adobe Photoshop CS5

Hi there, I'm Alita. I’m a photo-a-holic moment taker always looking for the next binge consumption of beauty. I love photography! I am a family member, a community supporter, and a firm believer in God; who lifts me up despite my weaknesses. To a fault, I am over analytical. I aspire to learn all that I can about photography. I’m not one who is afraid to roll up my sleeves and get dirty from time to time. And with all of this said, I have an infinite desire to always create. I create words, memories, moments of time captured through my lens, art, poetry, and thoughts. I love all of these creations and they overwhelm me sometimes. But blogging is therapy, right? It is an honor to be able to share these visions, novelties, and ambitions with others.

In my bag: Nikon D3000, kodak easyshare z1285, a instant poloroid camera 300. AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm a: 3.5-5.6 G lens, AF-S Nikkor ED 55-200mm 1:4-5.6 telephoto, AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1-1.4 G, and AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1-1.8. I use Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 4.1 to edit most pictures if editing is needed. I am still searching for my "voice" in photography but I tend to love natural light photography within the realm of natural photography. I am currently lusting for the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED VR Wide Angle Zoom Lens.

I am an almost thirty full-time working new mommy with a photography habit – okay addiction. I blog at Behind the Camera and Dreaming, try to support my addiction with Gray Mornings Photography and enjoy my offline life way down South in Jackson, Mississippi. I got my first DSLR as a present from my family for grad school graduation in 2007 after realizing – hey maybe I have an eye for this photography thing. I started blogging in 2009 to share the stories behind my photographs with no idea I’d find a whole community here! I’ve been learning and growing ever since.

I love sharing my creative life online. I work in a field (Clinical Social Work) where I deal with the struggles of others when they are at their worst. Photography (and blogging) has given me an outlet to capture the beauty and light in life, the celebrations, and memories to cherish forever, not to mention my little guy’s every move! Though I struggle to balance it all, I have a passion for what I can capture from my point of view. My hope is to share, learn, and continue to grow!

Desirae - Sommerfugl Design
Contact: sommerfugldesign@gmail.comHi everyone! My name is Desirae and I am a work from home mom with two little monster and another one to be arriving soon. I currently live in Denmark, but I am a Canadian through and through. I just recently started my own blog design business and will be soon starting to do photography here in Denmark, and I am loving every minute.

For me, my passion for photography has been and on and off thing for a long time now. It all started with a picture of a butterfly that I took with my mothers Kodak digital camera sometime in the later 90's. Since then I have mostly played, but I did do some professional pet photography with an old school giant film camera for about a year. But this last year has been a big year for me. It is the year I have decided, you know what it is time to go for it. One of the best decisions of my life.

I am so excited to be included here with the lovely ladies of Paper Heart Camera, and I am excited to share with all the readers!

In my bag: Canon 500D with Lens Kit, Canon Zoom Lens EF 75-300mm, and both PS CS5 and PSE 9.
